Uses

The Gun A Nail by Everbuild is the ultimate mechanical fixing replacement with exceptional bonding strength compatible with adhering to most common surfaces, even damp ones. It's formulated with a solvent-free composite, delivering an environmentally friendly product that's not hazardous to life. It's perfect for any D.I.Yer or tradesperson due to its effortless application and versatility. Applications this product is typically applied in include;

  • Bonding architraves, skirting and dado rails
  • Fixing wall cladding directly to internal wall surfaces or timber battens
  • Bonding carpet gripping systems to most floors
  • Bonding stair-nosing wooden stairs and concrete
  • Securing aluminium or other skin panels to the framework of portable industrial buildings/cabins

Preparation

The surface must be prepared to achieve optimal results. To achieve this, clean the surface you intend to bond, removing all contaminants that can hinder the adhesion, including dirt, dust, grease, oil, etc. Wood, plaster and brick may be damp but not wet; mechanical abrasion for porous surfaces helps provide a key.

Application

  1. Cut the tip of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the threaded screw.
  2. Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle with an opening to the required amount and screw it onto the cartridge.
  3. Place the cartridge into a standard sealant applicator tool/gun.
  4. Point the tip of the nozzle to one of the surfaces and apply either strips or daubs.
  5. Place surfaces together, shift them side to side as contact is made, and use a firm, even pressure to disperse the adhesion and optimise the bond.
  6. Apply a firm pressure for about 1 minute and any excess adhesive that's accidentally caused can be wiped away using a damp cloth.
  7. When bonding heavy surfaces, temporary support during the curing process is advised.

 Limitations and Notes

  • This product should not be used in applications where both surfaces are non-porous, for example, plastic/plastic and metal/metal.
  • This product should not be used as a mirror adhesive.
  • External applications with this product will extend the curing time by a considerable amount.
