Uses

The Mirror Mate by Everbuild is a unique, purposely crafted product for adhesion onto mirror backings, utilising a high-strength neutral curing composite which is harmless for these surfaces. Other benefits this product offers are chemical resistance, which allows household cleaners to not deteriorate it, alongside its suitability for overpainting with water and gloss-based paints, allowing you to blend the adhesive in flawlessly. Application this product is typically applied in includes;

  • Bonding mirrors onto most common substrates
  • Jointing cladding panels
  • Nail replacement, even on damp surfaces
  • Bonding difficult surfaces together, e.g. metal and fibreglass
  • Any application that requires a high-performance, durable bonding of joints
  • Applications where resistance to the chemicals is a necessity.

Preparation

It's important to prepare the surfaces properly before commencing the application. Otherwise, you risk not achieving optimal results, so start by cleaning all surfaces and removing contaminants such as dirt, dust, grease, oil, etc.

Application

  1. Cut the tip of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the threaded screw
  2. Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle with a 6mm opening and place it into a standard sealant applicator gun
  3. Apply adhesive beads to the back of the mirror in vertical strips spaced at 30-40mm centres.
  4. Bring the surfaces together and secure them with firm, even pressure, with a slight twist to disperse some adhesive.
  5. Using tape provides temporary support whilst the adhesive cures, which can take 24-48 hours.
