Uses

The Everbuild Lumberjack Wood Preserver is suitable for various applications; however, you should only use the Clear colour when looking for an internal application. You can use this internally as a final finish for a natural wood effect; however, it is not water-resistant. So when looking at an external application, the Clear variation of this product is fantastic at providing properties and protection for the wood. Still, you should protect it with either overpainting, varnishing or staining.

The Fir Green, Dark Oak, Golden Chestnut, Red Cedar and Slate Grey should be used externally, and they are ideal for rough-sawn or planed timber. These include areas such as;

  • Window Frames
  • Fences
  • Sheds
  • Cladding
  • Horticultural timber
  • Roof timber
  • Joist and many more

You need to treat the colour variations of this product the same as the clear colour. After applying this product to the surface and it's dried, you should coat it with a varnish, overpainting or staining.

Preparation

Before applying this product, ensure you prepare all the surfaces. Remove any pain, varnish, stain, grease, bark, or other contaminants that may hinder this product. If decay is present, remove all of it and replace it with sound timber. You can apply this to damp surfaces.

Application

Shake well before use; this product is ready and doesn't need to be diluted.

  1. Apply by brush, spray or dipping
  2. Applying a coat along the wood covering the whole surface
  3. Wait for it to dry completely
  4. Apply a second coat onto the surface
  5. To ensure the end grains are fully coated, soak them in the preserver for about 3 minutes.

Limitations

  • Always use coarse rather than fine mist generators
  • Do not apply to the surface on which food is prepared
  • Avoid contact with bitumen, roofing felt or plastics
