The fibreglass kings at Stronghold have produced the final step in their KEVLAR® fibreglass system with their GRP Fibreglass Roofing Mid Grey Ral Topcoat. This will protect the matting and primer layers of fibreglass beneath with a slick grey finish.
Fibreglass installations are made up of three layers. The first is a layer of base resin to create a totally smooth surface for the GRP matting. Then that matting is applied, serving as the main bulk of the installation. Finally, a Topcoat layer is applied over it as a final protective layer.
Please note that Topcoat will need to be mixed with a methylethyl ketone peroxide catalyzing agent before it can properly cure. Instructions on how specifically to do this and what ratios are needed are found in the installation guide. Fibreglass is a complex and hazardous material to work with. If you are a DIYer roofer, it may be best to consult a professional for fibreglass work rather than tackle it yourself.
