Preparation
It's of the utmost importance for this product to be applied to a surface that's been prepared correctly. Ensure the surface is clean and free from contaminants that can hinder the adhesion, including dust, dirt, grease, oil and loose debris. If there's ponding water, this must be removed as the surface must be dry, and gaps more significant than 3mm should be filled using an appropriate filler. Any porous or uneven surfaces are recommended to have a primer applied before; in some instances, two coats are required, with the second being subsequently applied after the first dries. Note the second coat must be dried before the application can occur and should not be left for longer than 24 hours; otherwise, you'll have to re-apply the primer.
Application
- Cut the required amount of flashing tape needed.
- Peel 50mm backing paper and carefully position the strip to the surface.
- Continue to peel the backing tape as you firmly place the tape on the surface.
- Use a pile roller or a rounded piece of wood to smooth down the tape, ensuring no trapped air is inside, especially when overlapping.
- Any adjacent overlaps must be applied with a minimum overlap of 25mm.
