Uses
The InjectoCream-100 by Sika is a high-quality, rising damp treatment that effectively penetrates mortar in walls, eradicating dampness and restoring its water-resisting properties. Compared to other systems to combat rising dampness, this product requires no special injection pump; instead, it is applied through multiple pre-drilled holes. Sika's scientists forged this product to have minimal wastage and be virtually free from spillages and mess. The InjectoCream can be administered to various types of masonry walls, including;
- Solid brick walls
- Cavity walls
- Random form stone and rubble infill walls, etc
Preparation
Remove any furniture or components of the building, e.g. skirting boards and wardrobes, so you can access the masonry wall and identify where you want to drill your holes. When pre-drilling your holes, understand the drill's depth, width, and spacing. Please read the technical data sheet, as it thoroughly informs you about the different preparations required for different types of masonry.
Application
- Place the InjectoCream-100 into a suitable sealant applicator tool
- Cut the top of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the threaded screw
- Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle and screw it onto the cartridge
- Insert the tip of the gun into the pre-drilled hole and fill it to within 1 cm of the surface
- Complete this for each pre-drilled hole you have
- Allow the product to work its magic, and plug the holes to your choice; patch-repair mortar is an excellent way.
Limitations and Notes
- All DPC applications should be completed in accordance with the relevant code of practice, e.g. British Standard Code of Practice for "Installation of Chemical Damp Proof Courses" BS 6576 (2005).
- This product is not designed for surface impregnation application and should not be used for this purpose.
- Some white surface stains can occur around the pre-drilled holes after application; these can be brushed away when dry.
