Uses

The Genius Gun Gap Filling and Expanding Foam by Soudal is a versatile, fantastic polyurethane gap-filling expansion foam that provides excellent properties. Firstly, the insulation value is unmatched, achieving 37mW/m.K and the sound insulation achieves 56 dB. It doesn't contain any CFC or Freon, making it an eco-friendly alternative compared to traditional fillers. Its stability is excellent, ensuring no post-expansion or shrinkage and curing faster than others. This product is applied using the patented Genius Gun cap, allowing direct application without the use of tools, and is entirely reusable for up to 6 weeks.

Preparation

Before commencing the application, prepare the area, ensuring there are no contaminants present that can interfere with the adhesion and overall performance of the product. Take care to remove all dirt, dust, grease, oil, organic growth and loose debris that can hinder the final result.

Application

  1. Shake the aerosol thoroughly for at least 20 seconds and continue to shake it in intervals throughout the application.
  2. Open the cover and fold the tube perpendicular to the aerosol can.
  3. Moisten the surface you intend to fill; this helps with the curing process.
  4. Fill the hole up to 1/3 and allow the self-expanding polyurethane foam to fill the rest.
  5. If you need to work in layers, allow the first to cure, moisten the surface and apply further loads.

Limitations and Notes

  • Any cured polyurethane foam must be removed mechanically.
  • Any uncured expanding foam can be removed using a damp cloth.
  • To reuse this bottle for up to 6 weeks, you must clean the nozzle and ensure no expanding foam can clog the system up.
  • To achieve optimal results, you should moisten all surfaces you intend to fill.
