Uses

The Stick2 Contact Adhesive by Everbuild is an outstanding premium-grade rubber-based contact adhesive perfect for various applications. Everbuild's technicians formulated this product to deliver an unrivalled bonding strength compatible with most surfaces around a home. The versatlity of this product is unmatched, it's ideal for use both internally and externally, with excellent weathering and aging properties, giving you confidence in a long-lasting bond. Surfaces that you can apply this product to include;

  • Laminate
  • Wood
  • Rigid PVC
  • ABS
  • Cork
  • Linoleum
  • Rubber
  • Stone
  • Metal
  • Dense Fabric
  • Pu Foam
  • Mineral Wool
  • Plasterboards
  • Leather

Preparation

Preparing the surface is vital to ensure an optimal bond is achieved. Start by removing all contaminants that can hinder the adhesion, including dirt, dust, grease, oil, etc. Store all surfaces in a warm environment before bonding to avoid chilling glue lines, which can extend curing times and cause difficulties with adhesion.

Application

Shake the can thoroughly before using

  1. Stir the adhesive thoroughly before using, and don't apply it at temperatures below 10°C
  2. Apply a thin coat of adhesive to both surfaces using a short, stiff brush or spreader.
  3. Allow the surface to become touch dry, which takes about 10-20 minutes. If the surface is porous, it should receive another coat and another 10-20 minute wait time.
  4. Bring the surfaces together and apply maximum pressure to initiate the contact adhesive. If you're bonding laminate flooring or similar, use a hard roller over the surface and apply as much body weight as you possibly can.

Limitations and Notes

  • Do not use this product on soft (plasticised) PVC.
  • This product is not suitable for polystyrene, bitumen, asphalt, cellulose-painted or tar-leaching surfaces.
  • Do not use a mirror adhesive, as this product may attack the back of the mirror.
  • Do not expose the bond to sunlight 3 days after fixing.
  • This product is not suitable for constant water immersion.
  • Always allow the adhesive to touch dry before bringing it together; otherwise, the solvent will become trapped, which can blister laminates.
  • Low temperatures can allow moisture to contact the bond whilst it's curing; this can have detrimental effects on the bonding glue.
