Global Recycling Day 2026: How eRoofing Is Reducing Waste with Our New Cardboard Compactor

Global Recycling Day 2026: How eRoofing Is Making a Difference

Global Recycling Day takes place on 18th March 2026, and it serves as an important reminder that every action we take today helps protect tomorrow’s world. At eRoofing, we proudly take responsibility for our environmental impact. Therefore, to strengthen our commitment to sustainability, we recently installed a cardboard compactor at our warehouse. As a result, we now recycle more efficiently while significantly reducing our waste.

♻️ What Is Global Recycling Day?

The Global Recycling Foundation created Global Recycling Day to highlight recycling as one of the most powerful tools for protecting our planet’s natural resources. Since then, businesses and individuals across the world have used this day to improve their recycling efforts.

In the construction and roofing industry, however, packaging waste — especially cardboard — remains unavoidable. For example, cardboard protects products during transport and ensures customers receive goods safely. Nevertheless, the way we manage cardboard after use makes the biggest difference. For this reason, we invested in a cardboard compactor.

📦 How Our Cardboard Compactor Works

A cardboard compactor, also known as a baler, compresses large volumes of cardboard into dense, manageable bales. As a result, our warehouse stays cleaner, safer, and more efficient.

Here’s how our team uses it every day:

First, Collection – Our team gathers used cardboard boxes from deliveries and packing stations throughout the day.

Next, Loading – Our warehouse team places the cardboard into the compactor chamber.

Then, Compression – The compactor applies strong hydraulic pressure to compress the cardboard.

After that, Baling – Our team secures the compacted cardboard into tight, stable bales.

Finally, Recycling – Our recycling partners collect the bales and convert them into new cardboard products.

Overall, this process transforms bulky waste into neat, stackable bales and frees up valuable warehouse space.

🌱 How This Helps the Environment

Installing our cardboard compactor delivers several important environmental benefits.

Firstly, less waste goes to landfill
We compact and recycle all our cardboard. As a result, we prevent large volumes of waste from entering landfill.

Secondly, it reduces our carbon footprint
Compact bales require fewer collections. Consequently, fewer collection vehicles travel to our site, which lowers emissions.

In addition, it supports the circular economy
Recycling companies turn our used cardboard into new packaging. Therefore, this reduces the need to use new raw materials.

Finally, it improves recycling efficiency
Our team produces clean, dense bales. Because of this, recycling facilities process the material more successfully.

♻️ Join Us This Global Recycling Day

This 18th March 2026, Global Recycling Day gives everyone the opportunity to make a difference. Whether at work or at home, small actions create meaningful change.

At eRoofing, we will continue to invest in sustainable solutions. Meanwhile, we encourage our customers and partners to recycle wherever possible.

Together, we can protect the environment while continuing to build better roofs.
