How to Locate a VELUX Roof Window Type, Code & Size

There are many great benefits of replacing a VELUX roof window for example it allows for a better indoor climate, more daylight, and improved energy efficiency. Luckily, it is quite easy to replace; in fact, it can be done in a short amount of time if everything is prepared correctly. We do recommend getting your VELUX window installed by a VELUX certified installer. In this post, we show you how to find your VELUX window type and size on your window and how to know which type of window you have and could get in the future.

Locating VELUX Roof Window Type and Size

You can find the type of window and its size on the date plate which is attached to your window. Here is a short video by VELUX which demonstrates on how to do it.

However, this is not all. You also need to know from which era your window comes from. There are four main eras. Before 1992, 1992-2001, 2001-2014, and From 2014. All of these date plates will look different and will help identify what age your window is. Here is a picture example of the four eras.
