Lite Lead

Lite lead is a great lead alternative developed by Permavent. It’s a self-adhesive aluminum flashing used for general roofing and waterproofing needs.

Lite Lead is a hassle-free replacement for traditional lead flashing. On one side it has a high-performance butyl adhesive that will grip like a second skin to applicable surfaces. On the other side it is both waterproof and has anti-corrosive protection.

Is Lite Lead toxic like real lead flashing?

Unlike real lead flashing, Lite Lead is completely non-toxic. This means it also has other potential applications aside from being used on roofs. Normally the toxic nature of lead flashing means that it can only be used in places unlikely to see human contact. Not so for Lite Lead. It can be used for sheds and greenhouses, for instance. It could also be used for waterproofing objects or installations outside.

Is Lite Lead cheaper than lead flashing?

Lite Lead is both more cost-effective and easier to apply than lead flashing thanks to its light weight. This further improves its versatility over lead flashing.

What other advantages does Lite Lead have over lead flashing?

Traditional lead flashing tends to attract thieves looking to strip it for resale value. In addition to the flashing being stolen, this may do additional damage to the roof as it is stripped. Lite Lead will not attract thieves.
