What type of nails do roofers use?
There are various types of roofing nails roofers use including smooth shank nails, ring shank nails and square caps. Typically, the nails are made out of copper, aluminium and steel materials. We’d only recommend using corrosion-free nails for a roofing project, no matter how small or big it is.
Another element to think about is the length of the nails. Generally, roofing nails range from 1 to 2 inches in length. Roofers need to consider the length and thickness of each material so nails can go past the wood.
