Uses
The Mitre Kit by Bond It is delivered as a two-part product giving an adhesive offering a high-strength adhesive which is supported by an accelerator that can amplify the glue making it more robust and suitable for more surfaces. The Mitre Kit is ideal for bonding surfaces such as;
- MDF Chipboard
- Oak
- Pine
- PVCu
- Rubber
- All common timbers
Preparation
Prepare the surface before applying the adhesive; complete this by removing any contaminants such as oil, grease, dust and similar impurities.
Application
- Spray the aerosol lightly over the surface of the joint and allow it to dry
- Apply the adhesive to the other surface and bring the two together immediately, applying gentle pressure.
Overusing the accelerator on PVCu may result in staining and won't become visible for several hours after application either. To ensure it doesn't ruin the final job, test it prior in an inconspicuous area to see its suitability.
Bonding Times
The speed of the adhesive curing depends on various factors, including the substrate it's applied onto and the condition of the environment. Best results are achieved on close-fitting parts with a very thin bond line, more significant bonding gaps can result in slower curing speeds.
Limitations
This product isn't suitable for permanent glass bonding, oil and greasy surfaces will not work either with this product, so ensure you carefully prepare it prior. Olefinic or fluro polymers may require specialised bonding techniques.
