This product is perfect for sealing around the house; its waterproof properties enable this sealant to be applied throughout the household. It can withstand high humidity levels, making bathrooms and kitchens the ideal location for an adhesive like this.
The surfaces that deliver excellent adhesion with this product are glass, glazed surfaces, ceramic tiles, aluminium, various plastics and most paints. It is resistant to all common household cleaning chemicals and will prevent any organic build-up if cleaned weekly.
Surfaces that won't work well with this sealant include; bare ferrous metals, brass copper, lead or zinc. If the surface is porous and water can penetrate through it, first treat the surface with remedial work. Multi-Mate isn't suitable for fixing mirrors, or natural marble, you also may experience yellow discolouration in the White and Translucent colours if they are exposed to too much direct sunlight.
Application
Prepare the surface on which you intend to apply this product, and ensure they are free from grease, oil and other contaminants that can hinder the adhesion. Use an expanding foam, backing tape or rod for the best results in joints with a lot of movement. Any cement, concrete or bare metals should need a primer applied onto them first before application. Timber needs a layer of primer and paint (if you intend to paint it) beforehand.
