This wood guard decking oil delivers your decking a natural-looking protection, this is done by replacing the natural oils in the wood. It provides a water-proof protective barrier that defends against constant weathering, which can cause swelling and warping. Suitable for application on untreated, previously oiled or weathered decking.
For new decking, the timber should be allowed to weather for a minimum of 6 months before using decking oil. Some water splashes onto the wood to show if it sits in beads will let you know if it needs decking oil. If it sits, it doesn't need deck oil.
For oil decking, use wood guard decking cleaner to remove any grease, dirt, oil, mildew and all other contaminants. Any loose or flaking material should also be removed.
Application
- Ensure the decking is dry. If there are wet conditions or expected rainfall, do not apply.
- Shake oil can thoroughly before use.
- Apply a flood coat using a brush or roller.
- Let to dry for 6 hours.
- Apply a second coat.
- Leave for 24 hours before enabling people to walk over the decking.
