Before starting, take care when opening the lid. To obtain a uniform colour, mix contents thoroughly into the bottom of the drum before using for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not thin the product. Apply immediately and continue stirring periodically during use. Where possible we recommend using disposable brushes for the application of Bostik Aluminium Solar Protector for Roofs. Apply two thin coats of Bostik Aluminium Solar Protector for Roofs by brush or mohair roller. When brushing, use soft bristle brushes applying the lightest pressure. The second coat should be applied as soon as the first coat is dry.
When applying over recently coated bituminous surfaces, allow the following minimum times to elapse after the final coat has dried before applying Bostik Aluminium Solar Protector for Roofs: Hot applied coatings: 24 hours Solvent-based coatings: 3 days Water-based coatings: 14 days Over bituminous surfaces, use the thinnest coat necessary to fully cover the black colour of the bitumen underneath. The second coat should also be thin and placed at right angles to the first. Avoid the formation of pools. When applying to large areas on bright days it is advisable to wear polarized sunglasses to reduce glare.
