Preparation
It's essential to examine your roof to ensure it's suitable for the Black Bitumen Paint application. Start by checking if it's sound, stable, and free from contaminants that may affect this product's adhesion, including dirt, dust, grease, oil, loose debris, and organic growth. The best way to complete this preparation is to take a stiff brush across the surface, wiping away impurities. With organic growth, applying a fungicide directly to them, allowing them to die and removing them is the best way to handle it. If the surface is highly porous, priming it before applying is recommended.
Application
- Stir the product before use
- Apply by brush or airless spray
- Apply evenly across the surface, ensuring no pooling or ponding occurs
- Allow the first coat to dry, and once it does, apply the second coat
Optionally, once all coats have dried, you can apply solar reflective paint onto the Black Bitumen Paint, prolonging its and the roof's lifespan.
