Uses
The Lumberjack 550 Floor Adhesive by Everbuild is an excellent hybrid polymer perfect for fixing all types of wood floors to common substrates. It's formulated with a water-free formula, preventing unwanted warpages or curls of the wood. With a versatile composite, it's suitable for application in underfloor heating, with suitability adhering wood to surfaces such as;
- Concrete
- Wood
- Metal
- Ceramic Tile
- Vinyl
- Marble
- Granite
- Most Natural Stones
Preparation
All surfaces must be free from contaminants such as dirt, dust, oil and grease. Any existing polish or wax must be removed, and all floors need to be sound; any new concrete must be allowed time to fully mature, and if you've got moisture in the suspended floor, you must treat this problem first.
Application
You must complete the installation and subfloor preparation in line with British standards.
- Cut the nozzle flat, leaving an opening of 8mm, then cut a V-shaped profile down into the nozzle at a depth of 10mm.
- Screw the nozzle onto the cartridge and place it into a standard sealant applicator tool.
- Apply the adhesive to the back of the plank in triangular-shaped beads, approx 8mm wide and 10mm high at ca. 250mm centres
- Position the surface into the application area whilst the adhesive is still tacky (30-minute open time)
- Tap it into its final position with mallet and block, removing any uncured adhesive present
- You should allow 12-24 hours before sanding or trafficking. You should allow three days in certain environments where the surface has little or no absorbency.
