- Garden Furniture
Preparation
Ensure you properly prepare the surface before applying and remove dust, dirt and similar contaminants. Any rough areas or edges must be smoothed down to allow optimal application, and any varnish or paint present must be sanded and stripped away.
Application
- Stir the product well before using it.
- Using a brush, apply the wood stain following the wood grain to optimise the varnish's colour.
- Apply 3 coats altogether, giving 4 hours between each coat. Before completing the final coat, lightly sand the surface, as this will provide a key for the final coat.
- Always apply the stain to a wet edge, working systematically across the surface, keeping the wet edge moving together as much as possible. After applying to the area, the finished appearance will be improved by feather brushing over the entire area with an unloaded brush, taking care to follow the wood grain.
Limitations
- The colour swatch label is an indication of the wood stain colour. Always test the colour in an inconspicuous area before completing the entire project.
- Do not use it on wood floors or decking.
- Protect from frost, do not apply below 10°C
- In high ambient temperatures or direct sunlight, you may not be able to maintain a wet edge which could lead to a poor finish.
- Ensure exterior wood/timber is treated with a non-repellent wood preservative before application, especially in areas subject to weathering.
