The Armourglass Plus Roofing Felt Shingles by IKO are perfect for installing exterior, non-habitable structures, protecting them from water. The technicians over at IKO forged each piece of shingles using glass fibre-based adhesive strips that securely bond to the surface. Each IKO Shingles conforms to all relevant building regulations, achieving a fire rating of BROOF (t1) and is entirely rot-proof.
Preparation
To ensure that you complete the installation of the shingles correctly, you should install them onto IKO Glass Fibre Underlay. Also, different batches of shingles can have slight colour variations, so to prevent unsightly patterns, make sure they are all in the same batch. The surface on which it's being installed must be sound, secured and braced. If you're applying it to an existing surface, ensure there are no sharp protrusions, nails, or objects that can damage the shingles.
Application
- Install the shingles directly onto the IKO Glass Fibre Underlay using mechanical fixings.
- Each shingle side by side should overlap by at least 8 cm
- Each shingle in front of the other should have an overlap of 15 cm
