Klober's Slate Vent is designed for high level ventilation, providing 20,000mm2 of ventilation space to prevent mould growth and structural damage in roof spaces caused by damp, poorly ventilated roofs. If used with an adaptor, it can also be used as a terminal for soil and ventilation pipes, as well as mechanical extraction systems. The Universal 20k Slate Vent suits larger man-made fibre cement and natural double lap slate tiles (600mm x 300mm / 24” x 12” and 500mm x 250mm / 20” x 10” tiles) with a minimum pitch of 22.5°. The Universal 20k Slate Vent is available in slate grey or dark slate to blend in with the roof tiles. KG9795-0429.
Installing a 20K Slate Vent
In order to accommodate the downpipe, a hole is cut in the roofing underlay to place the Slate Vent. If you want to ensure the integrity of the underlay, Klober underlay seal should be used. The rigid base is nailed on each side of the batten. In the two slates immediately above the Slate Vent, the profile of the body of the vent is cut to fit the slates. Notice: If 500mm x 250mm (20" x 10") slates are used, the front section of the Slate Vent base is detached, as indicated by the guidelines on the underside. In addition to the adjacent slates on the same course, the slate directly behind the Slate Vent itself is also cut to fit. In addition, the Slate Vent base is clipped with a slate rivet. As the cap is clipped securely to the base, the slating continues as normal.
