Few roofing products are as satisfying to use as the Oxidised Bitumen Slab, from Cromar. These slabs can be heated up and spread across roofing membranes like butter on toast. This allows roofing membranes to be easily reinforced.
Bitumen Slabs can also be used to smooth out indentations in flat roofs. If a flat roof has an indentation in it bitumen can be used to fill it to level out the roof. This prepares a roof for processes like installing a fibreglass GRP layer.
Oxidised Bitument Slabs need to be heated in a portable vat or “pot” before use. Hot bitumen is extremely dangerous to human skin. Take care and follow all safety precautions. If a burn occurs, immediately immerse the affected area in still, cold water and under no circumstances touch it.
