Preparation
You should look to apply this product to the surface in temperatures above 10°C to achieve optimal results.Â
Prepare bare wood by lightly sanding the surface to an even finish; achieve this by using 120-grit sandpaper. Clean the surface afterwards with a damp cloth, and fill any holes using a wood filler.
Metal should be prepared using a wire brush to clean the surface of any rust, dirt and similar contaminants, wiping the surface down with a damp cloth. Do not apply this product to newly galvanised metals.
Stone, Terracotta and Brick can be prepared using a stiff brush and water to wipe the surface of loose bits and dirt, then leave it to dry.
Painted surfaces can be prepared if they are in good condition by lightly sanding the surface using 240 grit sandpaper, and if the paint is in poor condition, you must sand it all off and wipe the surface afterwards to clear any dust.
Application
- Stir the paint thoroughly when you've opened it; this is to mix all the pigments.
- Using a synthetic brush, apply the paint onto the surface; if it's wooden, follow the wood grains with each stroke
- Allow 4 hours between coats for it to fully dry; the surface will be touch dry after 2 hours.
- When applying the second coat, wait 4 hours for it to dry and then apply whatever paints you want on top.
Aftercare
Remove as much paint as possible from your brush, and don't waste any down watercourses or drains. To clean any tools, use warm, soapy water.
