Uses
The One Coat Damp Seal by Ronseal offers excellent colour, sealing and all-round protection against dampness. Forged by the technicians at Ronseal, it was designed to combat dampness effectively and allow you to restore your walls and ceiling to their former glory.
This product achieves outstanding results, but you should note that this product will seal the area. However, various factors cause dampness, which can continue if not dealt with the source correctly.
Preparation
As mentioned above, you should deal with the dampness's cause before covering it up. Otherwise, you'll experience further dampness if you have not dealt with the source. Open windows and doors for added ventilation and place dust sheets to prevent unwanted spillages or accidents.
If the wall has any wallpaper, remove it with a scraper and if the wall is painted, sand off any loose or flaking paint. If you notice any mould, you should use a mould killer or tackle it with white spirit and a cloth.
Application
- Begin by making sure you stir the paint to mix the pigments together.
- Using a brush or roller, apply the paint directly to the affected area and about 30 cm around it. This is to prevent the dampness from seeping away.
- After two hours, the paint will be touch dry. After four hours, you'll be able to decorate the area.
Aftercare
You should only use it to combat the dampness. After you've completed that application, you should decorate over the damp paint with wallpaper, wall emulsion, etc.
