Uses
The Water Seal by Sika is the ultimate surface water sealer with a solvent-based formula designed to protect against water, dampness, and frost. It penetrates up to 5mm deep into the surface, lining the pores with a water-repellent coating without affecting the breathing property of the wall or significantly changing its appearance. The Water Seal can achieve up to 10 years of protection, depending on the surface it's applied onto, its absorbency, application rate and position.
Preparation
The surface should be prepared before application. Complete this by removing all contaminants on the surface, such as dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc. Any defective joints in brick and stone work should be repointed; hairline cracks don't need to be treated, but it's suggested.
Application
- Stir well before using
- Apply by brush or using a low-pressure spray in one coat
- The Water Seal should saturate the surface to obtain a rundown of approximately 300mm.
Cleaning
Clean any equipment and brushes used immediately with white spirit.
