Usesfloff
The MS Wood Floor Gun Grade is an exceptional product that delivers a high bonding strength, enabling wooden flooring to adhere seamlessly to the subfloor underneath. Sika's technical team formulated this product to be permanently elastic, accommodating the differential movement caused by humidity and climate conditions. Additionally, when used in conjunction with the Sika AcouBond system, the SikaBond MS Wood Floor becomes compatible with underfloor heating systems. The different types of subfloor substrates this product has been tested and proven on include;
- Concrete
- Anhydrite
- Chipboard
- Metal
- Plywood
- Ceramic tiles
- Most natural stone floors
Preparation
Due to the various substrates and applications to which you can apply this product, a complete understanding of the preparation is vital to ensure you complete it correctly; please read the technical data sheet. A general rule of thumb is to remove any contaminants on the surface that will interfere with this product's adhesion and general performance.
Application
- Remove the metal clip from the foil back and place it into a suitable barrel gun.
- Cut a nozzle to a V shape and screw it onto the barrel gun.
- Hold the gun to the surface at a 90° angle and extrude the bead approximately. 8mm wide and 10mm high at a maximum of 250mm centres.
- Place the wood into position whilst the adhesive is still wet and press firmly, tapping it across with a mallet.
- Ensure you leave a 12-15mm expansion gap along walls and around surface protrusions for the wood to expand.
Limitations and Notes
- Consult the flooring manufacturer to ensure correct installation with their product.
- Do not apply this product directly to bitumen or asphalt floors.
- This product should not be applied to surfaces that bleed oils or plasticisers.
- This product should not be used externally.
- Do not store, use or allow it to cure below 5°C.
