The Timco Self-Drilling Wing-Tip Metal Construction Screw is specially designed to allow timber to be fixed to heavy section steel. The head of the screw is countersunk to allow for a flush finish. Timco brand fixings, screws and nails are widely recognised as top-shelf. Drawing on 50 years of industry experience they are reliable and cost-effective. The drill tip at the bottom allows the screw to be drilled in without pre-drilling a hole.Â
The ingenious wing-tip design allows the screw to tear through timber in a way that lets it maintain enough speed for self-drilling. When it hits the heavy section steel, however, the wings will be destroyed, allowing it to drill deep properly. The screw is made of hardened carbon steel for strength, with a zinc coating for rust resistance. It uses a Phillips head. Each screw is 5.5x65mm. These screws come in packs of 200.
