Preparation
Before applying Black Bitumen Paint, it's crucial to assess your roof's condition. Begin by ensuring the surface is sound, stable, and free of contaminants that could impact adhesion, such as dirt, dust, grease, oil, loose debris, or organic growth. To prepare effectively, use a stiff brush to remove impurities. For organic growth, apply fungicide to kill and remove it. If the surface is highly porous, consider priming it beforehand for the best results.
Application
- Stir the product before use
- Apply by brush or airless spray
- Apply evenly across the surface, ensuring no pooling or ponding occurs
- Allow the first coat to dry, and once it does, apply the second coat
Optionally, once all coats have dried, you can apply solar reflective paint onto the Black Bitumen Paint, prolonging its and the roof's lifespan.
