Code 4 lead is 1.80mm in thickness and is suitable for a vast majority of roofing lead work. Code 4 is more resistant to thermal movement in comparison to Code 3 lead.
Code 4 lead comes in two lengths. 3000mm and 6000mm. The lead can be cut to size but typically the width range goes from 150mm to 1600mm.
Code 4 lead can be heavy and should be carried with caution. For example, a roll of 1600mm by 6m weighs 196kg.
Code 4 Lead Flashing

The main difference between code 3 and code 4 lead flashing is that while one’s usage is mostly limited to being used as a soaker against a chimney wall, the other is more flexible.
This is because code 4 lead flashing is 1.8mm thick, which allows for a 50% increase in the maximum length that can be laid of code 3 lead flashing as it is more resistant to thermal movement.
