Low Pitch
A low pitched roof is usually defined as a pitched roof with a pitch of less than 35° and above 10°. Such a low pitch can often cause complications for homeowners since it limits the kinds of tiles that you can put on your roof. However, there are also many products developed specifically for these sorts of roofs.
What sort of products are they?
One popular product for low pitched roofs is the Permavent Easy Slate kit. Easy Slate strips provide a small amount of cushioning to slate tiles they are attached to. This has a series of effects from reducing rattling in the wind to increasing the level of roof ventilation. Perhaps most importantly, Easy Slate seals the perpendicular abutment join or ‘perp join’, waterproofing the slates. Easy Slate can also be used in conjunction with slate on roofs as flat as 12°.
Another low pitch system from Permavent is Plain Easy, which allows for plain tiles that are usually limited to roofs with at least 35° of pitch to be fitted on roofs as low as 17.5° in pitch. As the name implies this is relatively simple to install.
