Pozidriv Screws
Pozidriv screws, also titled Pozi, are an iteration of the traditional Phillips screw design. They were designed to eliminate the primary weakness of the Phillips screw, that is to say, the tendency of Phillips screws to “cam out” or for the bit to slip out of the screw head. The Pozidriv does this via its improved screw head, which allows for a deeper, firmer fit with the drill bit.
The result is that Pozidriv screws do indeed cling to the drill bit better and don’t cam out as easily as Phillips screws. They are a bit more fiddly to extract the drill from after the screw is in place, however.
