Uses
The 2-Part High-Performance Wood Filler by Everbuild is easy to mix and apply, it settles to form a hard, shatterproof finish that forms just 30 minutes after the application starts. After the 30 minutes and the filler has fully cured, you can continue working with the wood; this includes chipping away at it in whatever way or taking it through a painting process.
Overall this product delivers outstanding wood filler and repairing properties, it can be used on any furniture and even works as a filler for MDF. This product is suitable for chips and damages in parquet and laminate floors and perfect for repairing corner pieces of furniture.
Preparation
Before starting, you must prepare the surface. You can achieve this by removing any dirt, dust or similar impurities on the surface and sanding it down slightly, as this will improve the adhesion of the filler. Any rotten wood that is present must be removed as much as possible, it is advised that you use the Everbuild Wet Rot Wood Hardener, this will rejuvenate the rotting wood and create a solid base for filling.
If you intend the stain the wood afterwards, this includes the newly filled section, you should use a colour that is the closest match to the wood itself; this is due to the filler absorbing the stain at a different rate than the wood itself.
Application
Mix a golf ball-sized volume of filler for application; use a 38mm strip of hardener and mix with golf ball-sized filler to produce a homogeneous paste using the spatula provided.
Press firmly into the surface you want to repair, ensure you fill it and leave it protruding out slightly.
Once it has cured, you can sand it down, paint it, stain it etc.
Limitations
- Once you have mixed the filler, do not return it to the container
- Avoid contact with eyes and skin
- Testing of small areas is recommended to ensure a colour match
- If unused, discard mixed materials after 10 minutes.
