Made of a bleeding edge polymer it is nigh unbreakable, 200 times stronger than glass. Instead of being separated into thin layers like most polycarbonate sheets for insulation, it is made of solid panels to optimise for durability.
This resilience makes Axgard very suitable for exterior glazing like bike shelters. 2mm sheets are very versatile, because they are much more flexible. In addition, they are also more cost effective compared to the thicker sheets.
