Uses
This one-part polyurethane adhesive and sealant is resistant to water, most chemicals and oil and so can be used for sealing and bonding in engineering, construction, automotive and marine applications.
It can be applied effectively to a variety of different surfaces such as:
- Wood
- Metal
- GRP
- Glass
- Rubbers
- Ceramic
- Concrete
- Mortar
- PVC
Preparation
Prior to application, ensure surfaces are free from contaminants (dirt, dust and grease etc) that may hinder the adhesion.
Application
- Apply using a standard sealant gun
- Cut the top of the cartridge without damaging the threaded screw
- Apply the nozzle onto the threaded screw
- Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, ensuring the gap is slightly smaller than the area to be filled
- Smooth down with a soapy sealant tool within 10 minutes of application
Tools used should be cleaned after using acetone. If sealant has already cured, the product should be removed by abrasion
You can paint on top of this sealant with water-based paints, however if using a solvent based paint you should test a small inconspicuous area to determine suitability
Limitations
- This sealant should not be used for aquarium construction
- Do not use with bitumen or asphalt.
- Not suitable for joins with a movement more significant than 15%
- Discolouration may occur with grey and white shades if exposed to UV.
