The Bond It Flash-Mate Lead Sealant is a low modulus neutral cure roof sealant that can effectively prevent weather ingression, tile lift and noise. Ideally used for sealing roof lights, conservatories, glass houses, guttering, industrial roofing systems and lead flashings. This product can also be used to bond glass and glazing plastics.
Compatible with a multitude of surfaces such as: lead, galvanised steel, concrete, brick and all metals. The sealant offers outstanding UV, heat and ozone resistance.
Application
Prior to application, ensure all surfaces are clean and dry. Remove any loose debris, grease or contaminants present that may hinder adhesion. If applying to a porous surface, priming may be necessary
- Apply using a standard sealant gun.
- Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, with the opening slightly larger than the intended joint to seal.
- Wait 5-10 minutes after application, then smooth down using a sealant smoothing tool.
Polyethylene foam backing rods should be used for significant gaps and then sealed. This provides a stronger bond and prevents use of excess sealant.
