This high-quality Flash-Mate Lead Sealant by Bond It is exceptional at preventing weather ingression and protecting tile lift and wind noise. The Flash-Mate can be used to bond glass and glazing plastics, it also works well with small sections of roofing materials under repair. However, the ideal application for this product is sealing roof lights, conservatories, soffits, glass houses, industrial roofing systems and lead flashing.

The Flash-Mate is designed to be compatible with lead, tough rubber, galvanised steel, and all metals, it offers outstanding UV, heat and ozone resistance. Other ideal application surfaces include concrete, brick, GRP, sealed timber, plastics polycarbonate, acrylics, PVCu and all painted surfaces.

Application

Prepare all surfaces before you start the application, and remove any loose debris and contaminants present that can hinder the adhesion, including grease, oil and dust. If the surface for application is porous, you'll need to put a primer onto the surface first.

  1. Apply using a standard sealant gun.
  2. Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, with the opening slightly larger than the intended joint to seal.
  3. Wait 1-2 minutes after application, then tool down using an applicator tool.

Use Polyethylene foam backing rods for significant gaps and then seal it, this provides a stronger bond and prevents so much waste of silicone sealant.
