Uses
The Squeeze It Flexible Decorator Filler delivers excellent adhesion to most common building materials, irrespective of your previous experience with using a product like this; it offers an easy to use straight from the tube application that enables anybody to pick it up and use it. Surfaces that are ideal for this product to be applied onto include;
- Wood
- Plaster
- Brick
- Concrete
- Plasterboard
Preparation
Before you can start application, ensure that the surfaces are sound and free from contaminants that can hinder the adhesion, including dust, grease, oil and similar impurities. The best way for grease to be removed is with an acetone solution, this optimises mechanical adhesion.
Primer
This product doesn't need a primer for most common building materials, however, surfaces like concrete may need a primer to optimise the adhesion.
Application
- Remove the cap from the top
- Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, making the hole slightly larger than the gap
- Extrude the sealant to the area of application
- Tool down within 10 minutes before the skin starts to form, use a applicator tool or a wetted spatula or spoon.
When applying paints onto the sealant, if they are emulsion based, you can do this within 1 - 2 hours. If the paints are oil-based, wait 24-48 hours for the sealant to completely dry.
Limitations
This product is not a silicone sealant and is not suitable for application when;
- Applied externally during rainy weather
- Applied at a temperature below 5°C
- Used in joints constantly immersed in water
- In contact with bituminous products
- Used in areas of high abrasion
- For plastic baths, use a sealant with greater flexibility
