The Bond It Flashing tape is designed to be used as flashing on flat and pitched roofs, parapets and chimney stacks. This product is also fantastic for sealing around RSJs, flues, concrete columns, guttering and extractor vents. Other applications include replacing and repairing previous flashing, down pipes, waterproofing coping, roof ridges, and overall general roof repairs.
This product is supplied in a roll, this is to offer ease, speed and efficiency when applying, with the properties of the product naturally preventing awkward contours.
Application
Prepare the surface by removing any loose bits with a wire brush, ensuring that there isn't any dust, clean, dry and free from any contaminants that may hinder the adhesion.
- Cut the required length of flashing tape needed, remove the release paper and firmly press down the adhesive bitumen side.
- Ensure there is complete contact by smoothing down with a cloth and removing any present air bubbles.
- Roll down the edges with a wallpaper roller or trowel to ensure a good edge seal. Ensure you take care not to damage the surface of the flashing tape.
- Any connecting flashing tapes should be overlapped with each other by at least 1 inch 25mm an well rolled down.
