This product is carefully formulated to deliver all the benefits of conventional wood dyes without any discolouration or fading. You can apply this to hardwood or softwood, but it is only suitable for interior wooden furniture.
Preparation
The Refined Wood Dye shouldn't be applied onto previously treated surfaces. You should prepare the surface by removing any previous coating, regardless of what it is: oil, dye, etc. Use a sandpaper to sand down to the bare wood, then wipe any present dust away with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Application
- Shake the tin well for about 1 minute.
- Tip a small amount of the dye into a lint-free cloth or small piece of sponge.
- Apply to the wood, following the direction of the wood grain and working evenly.
- Two coats typically achieve optimal results, but you can apply further coats if you want to continue thickening the colour. You must give 1 hour of drying time between each coat.
