Uses
The Black Jack 908 D.P.M. by Everbuild is a high-performance, effective, damp-proof membrane that delivers excellent protection against water on most surfaces. It's formulated for application both internally and externally, suitable for application to floors and walls. Due to its unique composite, you can use it as an adhesive for surfaces including wood blocks, mosaic panels, insulation boards, cork, expanded polystyrene, and as a plaster bonding agent, even on complex surfaces. Applications that this product is commonly used in include;
- Delivering a sandwich damp-proof membrane for floors
- As a general waterproofer on concrete, fibre/cement, plaster, render, etc.
- Waterproofing structures such as abridge abutments, culverts and retaining walls.
- Fixing wood blocks and wooden mosaic flooring
- Bonding agent for plastering difficult substrates such as glazed tiles
- As a curing agent for concrete
Preparation
The surface must be prepared to achieve optimal results. Start by clearing the surface, ensuring it's free from contaminants that can hinder the 908 D.P.M., including dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
Application
This product has multiple applications it can be applied to. The technical data sheet thoroughly explains each section and should be read thoroughly to ensure that the installation of this product complies with the relevant British Standards. The installations that the data sheet covers include;

Limitation and Notes
- This product should not be applied when rain is imminent.
- Protect from rain and frost until cured (Rub the surface with a wet finger, and if no brown stain occurs, then it's safe to assume it's dry)
- Do not apply in areas where subsequent contact with solvents is likely.
- Stir well before use and allow sufficient drying time between coats.
- This product may bleed through any paints applied over it. Contact the paint manufacturer to find a suitable primer to act as an undercoat.
- This product will not provide a replacement for D.P.C.; ideally, they both should be used in conjunction with one another.
- Gloss paints and other oil or alkyd-based paints must not be applied to a surface treated with D.P.M.
