Everbuild Everflex AquaMate Aquarium Sealant – Translucent 295ml (Box of 12)

Uses

The AquaMate Sealant by Everbuild is a purpose-built aquarium manufacturing sealant that's perfect due to its harmless, fish-friendly composite mixed with a sealant suitable for constant water immersion. Despite its purpose-built aquarium manufacturing compatibility, you can also use it in sealing bond liners and all supply and drainage piping.

Preparation

Before commencing the application, preparing the surface is vital to ensure optimal results are achieved. Start by removing contaminants on the surface, including dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc. All glass must be cleaned prior to application.

Application

It's important to thoroughly read the instructions for manufacturing the aquarium, which can be found by reading the technical data sheet. For aquarium manufacturing, you must understand the required dimensions of the joints, and you can calculate this by;

E = 6 x H² x L / [100 x T x 2 (H + L)]

E = required thickness of structural seal in mm

H = height of aquarium in cm

L = Length of aquarium in cm

T = Tensile strength of sealant (kg/cm²)

The Everbuild AqauMate has a Tensile Strength of 10kg

Limitation and Notes

• Highly porous surfaces will require priming to achieve optimal results.
• Not suitable for application on substrates that bleed oils, solvents or plasticisers.
• Due to pond liner materials varying, preliminary tests are suggested to ensure compatibility.
• Always wash out ponds and aquaria after use to ensure you remove residual acetic acid; you can complete a pH test to check
• Ensure all sealants have fully cured before moving or filling with water.
