Uses
The Fix & Fill Expanding Foam by Everbuild is the ultimate expanding foam with its compatibility filling various areas, offering excellent insulating and sound-deadening properties. This versatile product can achieve amazing results, and after application, it can be sawn, cut or plastered in just 1 hour, assuming the temperature is between +5°C and +30°C. Applications this product is typically applied in include;
- Gaps around window and door frames and pipe entries through walls
- Electrical wire chasing before plastering
- Filling deep joints before applying plaster or sealant
- Fills irregular gaps in brick, concrete, stone and plaster
- Fixes door frames, timber structures, window sills, thresholds and frames
- Insulating behind cladding to exterior walls, soffits and barge boards
Preparation
Ensure the surface is free from impurities that can interfere with this product, including dirt, dust, grease, oil, etc. Before starting the application, you should slightly moisten the surfaces, as this will optimise the curing process.
Application
- This product is delivered with a protective glove, which can be found in the lid of the can.
- Shake the can thoroughly before use (about 20 times)
- Carefully fix the nozzle to the can, ensuring that it does not overtighten or force
- Partially fill the gap, working from the bottom up as the foam will fill the remaining space.
- Any excess expanding foam can be removed whilst still wet by using the Everbuild Foam Cleaner. If the foam has cured, you must mechanically remove it or use a dedicated foam remover.
- If you're fixing a door frame, provide temporary support during the curing process.
Limitations and Notes
- Do not over-pressurise the container
- Always apply above 5°C, ideally around 20°C
- Any spillages must be cleaned instantly with a Foam Cleaner.
- When finished using the expanding foam, remove the nozzle from the can and clean it immediately.
- After the foam has cured, you must use mechanical methods to remove it.
