Preparation
Surfaces to be bonded must be cleaned before application, or you risk not achieving an optimal bonding strength. Start by removing contaminants, including dirt, grease, oil, dust, etc. Any new concrete or plaster should allow sufficient time to dry and cure. If the surface is porous or driable, it should be primed first with a diluted contact adhesive and allowed to dry.
Application
- Cut the top of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the threaded screw.
- Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle with an opening to the required amount and screw it onto the cartridge.
- Place the cartridge into a suitable standard applicator sealant tool/gun.
- Point the tip of the nozzle to the surface and apply the material in a zig-zag motion or beads.
- Bring surfaces together, pressing firmly, and allow them to dry, which can take up to 1 hour - for trafficking areas such as bonding stair nosings, you should allow 24 hours for it to cure.
