Uses
The Jetcem Waterproof by Everbuild is an excellent, high-performance, water-resisting rapid repair cement-based mix that's perfect for patch repair jobs in various locations. Due to the excellent technicians at Everbuild, this product acts with added waterproofing resistance, which makes it ideal for repairing areas susceptible to dampness. It's been tested and complies with the BS EN 1504-3 Class R3, and applications this product is typically applied in include;
- Bedding sanitary ware (toilets, pedestals, etc)
- Seal and joint pipes and drains
- Filling around pipes through gaps
- Repairing pools and ponds
- Repairing basement areas of areas experiencing dampness
- Patching repair to tanking and water-retaining structures
- Repairing cracks and holes in areas that are constantly submerged in water.
Preparation
The area you intend to patch and repair needs to be clean and free from contaminants that can interfere with the adhesion, including dust, dirt, oil, and grease.
Mixing
Ensure all tools and equipment you use are clean. Mix 3 parts Jetcem Waterproof to 1 part by volume of clean cold water until you achieve a smooth, slump-free paste. Please note that the batch of cement you create will only be usable for 5-10 minutes; after this time, it will become stiff, and if you add water, this will not 're-activate' it, only further weakening its strength and performance.
Application
- Using a trowel or knife, apply the cement, working it well into the area to be repaired.
- Smooth and level out with the surrounding area before the cement mixture begins to set; this is usually 10 minutes.
- If you're repairing ponds and pools, use suitable paint to seal the cement before filling them with water.
