The Mould Resistant Wall Tile Grout by Evo-Stik is perfect for those looking to apply durable, long-lasting grout onto a wall in areas which experience high humidity. Excellent at finishing joints for internal and external ceramic tile installation, you can feel confident that those tiles will last for decades on the walls. Finally, its fast-setting formula allows you to complete the application in just over 3 hours.
Preparation
Allow at least 24 hours, perhaps less, depending on the conditions, for the tile adhesive to dry before using this Wall Tile Grout to finish it. If the surface is somewhat impervious, such as dense brick and concrete, even some painted or existing tile surfaces, it should allow 72 hours for the adhesive to set before grouting. After waiting, ensure the joints are clean and free from dust, grease and loose materials. Any old grout needs to be removed with the tiles cleaned before application.
Mixing
You should mix enough powder to create about 1 hour's worth of formula. This is approximately 500 grams, and any unused mix should be discarded after an hour. The advised mixture is 3 parts powder to 1 part clean, cold water by volume. When mixing the product, you should put the water into the bucket first and then the powder to create the right consistency. After mixing, you should allow it to stand for 10 minutes, then stir again before applying. DO NOT add more water after the formula is allowed to stand.
Application
- You should wear clothing to protect yourself from the mixture as it can irritate the skin when in contact.
- It's best to work in small areas, applying at a rate of approximately 0.5m²
- You should apply the grout to the area using a grout spreader, squeegee or sponge, paying close attention that you fill the area entirely.
- After filling, you should smooth it down using a piece of dowel or grout finisher.
- After that, use a slightly damp sponge to clean the tiles, ensuring that you don't interfere with the grout that's curing.
- After you've finished the application, you can allow up to 3 hours of drying time, then finish by polishing the tiles.
- You should protect the grout from water immersion and wetting for at least 24 hours. After that, it will have achieved its water and frost-resisting properties.
Cleaning
You should clean any spillages of the grout while still wet, and any tools used should be cleaned immediately after using warm water.
