IKO 5U Eaves Protection Strips - 16m x 330mm

The Eaves Protection Strip by IKO is a fantastic product that's perfect for installation underneath the slating of roof eaves. It is a bituminous roofing felt that helps direct the slates and rainfalls towards the guttering, preventing unwanted leaks into the property. When installed correctly, the protection strip will overhang the eave and should be fixed carefully to ensure all water is directed to the gutter. Care should be taken when installing, ensuring the strip doesn't sit in the gutter; otherwise, it can clog water flow.

Installation

When fixing the IKO Eaves Protection Strip, lay it parallel to the eaves and fixed with clout nails in every rafter 25mm from the top edge. The bottom edge of the strip should be dressed and detailed over the fascia, eave support board and tilt fillets into externally mounted guttering. A minimum overhang of 50mm or the centre of the gutter system should be completed, ensuring no material sits in direct contact with the guttering.
