Uses
The OXIT Sealant and Adhesive by OX Tools is a new, innovative range offering the ultimate versatility, with excellent adhesive strength accompanied by outstanding joint sealant finishing. It is crafted for heavy-duty automotive and transportation industries but is also excellent for domestic use. Ideal for use in and around a property, this product is heavily resistant to chemicals, UV light and water.
Preparation
Before commencing the application, it's good practice to clean the surface, ensuring that all contaminants are removed to prevent any hindrance in the adhesion. Impurities commonly found on surfaces that cause poor performance include dirt, dust, grease, oil, flaking material and loose debris.
Application
- Cut the top of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the threaded screw.
- Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle with an opening to your desired amount and screw it onto the cartridge.
- Place the cartridge into a suitable applicator tool.
- For sealant jointing, point the tip of the nozzle to the gap and apply a singular bead along the gap, smoothing it down afterwards using a sealant applicator tool.
- For adhesive applications, apply several bead lengths along the surface; sometimes, a perimeter bead is required for heavier applications.
