Preparation

To ensure an optimal finish on previously stained or varnish wood, you should sand down the surface using 120-grit sandpaper, working in a circular motion to remove any old varnish or stain. After sanding the surface, use white spirit and a cloth to clean the surface from dust.

When applying to new wood, you should lightly sand the surface using 120-grit sandpaper, ensuring there is no imperfection on the surface. After, use white spirit and a cloth to clean the surface of any leftover dust.

Application

1. Open the tin and thoroughly stir it, ensuring no lumps are in the varnish
2. Using a brush, apply the varnish brushing in the direction of the wood grain
3. Allow six hours to pass for the coat to dry
4. To achieve optimal results, you should apply three coats, but before applying the final coat, lightly sand the surface

Aftercare

After the varnish has dried, you can maintain the quality of it by cleaning the surface, ensuring that no grime or dirt builds up. Any tools used during the application process can be cleaned using warm, soapy water. If you notice any damage to the surface, lightly sand the surface and apply the varnish to it.
