Uses
The Stays White 2in1 Primer and Paint by Ronseals delivers excellent colour and protection, all of this achieved in just two coats. Its unique formula provides a non-drip application, aiding you in preventing unwanted spillages. Another feature that allows this product to stand out from the rest is its resistance to scruffs and scratches.
Preparation
You should prepare the surface correctly to optimise the paint's colour and finish. Sand the surface with 120 grit sandpaper, and wearing a facemask during this is advised to prevent inhaling and dust particles. After you've sanded the surface, you should use white sprit and a cloth to wipe and clean the wood. If any knots are present, you can use a knot blocker if you don't want it to show through the paint.
Application
- Ensure you stir the paint pigments thoroughly in the tin.
- Dip a synthetic brush into the paint and apply it, brushing in the direction of the grain, leaving 4 hours for the first coat to dry.
- After it's dried, apply a second coat in the same fashion as before
- You can touch the second coat in just 30 minutes after application, but it will fully dry in 4 hours.
Aftercare
You'll be able to maintain the wood normally, cleaning as you typically would clean wood. Any damages that may occur can be rectified by sanding the affected area down and applying the over the area.
