Uses
The Sika Path & Patio Sealer offers long-lasting protection for your external flooring. Sika concocted the formula to deliver excellent protection to various surfaces, such as;
- Patios
- Paths
- Natural Stone
- Concrete
- Block Paving
Its unique formula provides a milky solution which dries into a low-sheen, slip-resistant finish. It has a powerful protection which prevents various contaminants such as;
- Sunlight damage
- Water
- Oil
- Petrol
- Organic Growth
Preparation
The surface must be free from dirt, dust, oil, grease, algae, loose materials, organic growth, etc. Clean the surface with a dedicated cleaner, and for bad oil stains, use a proprietary detergent. Very soiled surfaces should be cleaned as well with a dedicated cleaner.
After cleaning the surface, wash it down with a hose and broom, ensuring that you remove all traces of the cleaning products. Pavers must be left for three months minimum after placing before over-coating, or the salts inside won't leach out and will sit underneath the sealer and create unsightly white patches, especially during wet conditions.
Applications
- Stir well before use.
- Apply using a long-pile roller and tray or low-pressure spray.
- Apply in even, thorough coats, especially on textured areas where ponding could occur but must be avoided.
- Apply two coats, allowing 2 hours between coats. Optionally, a 3rd coat can be applied to offer a semi-gloss finish, which should be completed 4 hours after the last coat.
Limitations
- Do not use on surfaces treated with silicone or stearate-based water seals unless the surface is weathered enough to show no water-beading effects.
- Do not use if rain is imminent or (within 5 hours at 20°C)
- This product should not be applied if the air and surface temperature is below 5°C.
- Dispose of this product accordingly; do not allow it to enter watercourses.
