Uses
The Tarmac Restorer by Sika is the ultimate tarmac-restoring product. This product coats the surface with a thick, black, water-based acrylic polymer, delivering a potent colour that protects the surface against common spills and resists organic growth. It delivers to the surface a tough, durable, low-sheen finish which can dry in only 4 hours.
Preparation
Before commencing the application, use oil/grease removers to remove any existing stains, and any organic growth should be removed using a suitable mould killer.
Application
- Stir well before using and periodically during the application process
- Apply to the surface using either a brush or long-pile roller
- Ensure an even coat across the entire surface, applying two in total and giving around 4 hours in between for the coat to dry.
Limitations and Notes
- Do not use this product if the surface or ambient temperature is below 5°C.
- Do not use if rain is imminent or within 6 hours of application.
- Fresh tarmac should be allowed three months for it to dry.
- Lower temperatures will extend the drying time significantly.
- Do not use a high-pressure spray to clean the tarmac restorer.
- Any oil, petrol or similar spills should be cleaned immediately using warm water with detergent and a clean cloth.
